2026-01 City of Oxford Rubbish Site West Expansion #19434

The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Oxford, Mississippi, will receive sealed proposals for the following:

The Department of Environmental Services for the City of Oxford is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the installation of approximately 153,750 sq. ft. of geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) and associated protective soils to line approximately 2.6 acres of an existing rubbish site cell. The plans and technical specifications are available to view free of charge at oxfordmsbids.com. Proposers should download and review plans and specifications through the City of Oxford’s bid portal in order to be added to the plan holders list.

A pre-proposal meeting is scheduled at the City of Oxford Rubbish site (55 County Road 3067) on January 13th. Prospective proposers are highly encouraged, but not required to attend.

Proposals may be submitted via hand-delivery, US Mail, or electronic submission (www.oxfordmsbids.com). All bids are due on or before 11:00 am, Thursday, January, 29, 2026. Proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check not less than 5% of the total contract amount.

The project will be awarded based on the best-qualified bid and is subject to the approval by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. The Board of Aldermen reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any and all informalities. All proposals submitted in response to this Request for Proposals are “competitive sealed proposals” in accordance with Miss. Code Section 25-61-5 (2017).
